  I John 4:17-5:5

            Learning… and applying!! 

 

 

        Four Evidences of Love Being Perfected:

 

                1. Increased Confidence - 17-19

 

                     - no krisisphobia =

 

                      + Heb 9:27 – it is appointed for men once to die, then the judgment

                      + II Cor 10:5 – every thought captive to the obedience of Christ

                      + Rom 8:28 – all things work together for good, to those

                        who love God

              ð how confident am I?

 

               2. Increased Intergrity - 20-21

                            “Don’t live to impress others;

                             impress God, and you will impress others.”

               3. Increased Joyful Obedience  1-3

 

                    - the psalmist sings about the Law!

 

                    - KEY = recognize that obedience is a FAMILY MATTER

         

               4. Increased Victory  - 4-5

                    - “overcome”

 

 

 

            “the world stands in our way of heaven!"

 

 

 

 

 

        Four final thoughts:

 

 

            I. Cultivate friendship  with Christ.

 

 

 

            II. This friendship will begin to impact my life.

 

 

 

            III. My friendship with Christ and my becoming like Him will lead to

 

                  a deeper love for Christ.

 

 

 

            IV. The more I know Him the better I love Him, and the better I

 

                  love Him, the more I become like Him.
