…conceited
…lacks understanding
…morbid interest in controversial issues
…evil in speech and attitudes
š these attitudes/actions go against God’s character!
C. Money… – 6-10
- key: contentment! (inner peace regardless of outside circumstances)
…worry / greed is the antithesis of contentment!

- Mathew 6:25-32 - Job 1:21 – “If godliness is not your goal, you will never be content.”
- progression: wanting to get rich:
1. temptation/snare
2. foolish/harmful desires
3. ruin/destruction
Our God owns the cattle on a thousand hills… He also owns the hills!!
D. True Teachers_… – 11-16
- “you, man of God” –
- “flee” –
- on the positive side:
1. pursue… 11
- righteousness - love
- godliness - perseverance
- faith - gentleness
2. “keep on fighting…”… 12
“I have fought a good fight.” - II Timothy 4:7
3. take hold… … 12, 14
What difference, really, do these three areas make?
Praise! – 15-16 - doxology… 1:17 and 3:16 “If godliness is not your goal, you will never be content.”
